Mei Takagi

Born on December 19, 1996, in Osaka Prefecture. She started playing golf at the age of 8, won the National Elementary School Golf Championship spring tournament in 2008, and also claimed victory at the National Sports Festival in 2013. In 2015, she passed the final professional test of the Japan Ladies Professional Golf Association (JLPGA) and became a member of the 87th class of the LPGA. That year, she participated in 5 Step-Up Tour events and 1 JLPGA Tour event, finishing the year ranked 139th in annual prize money. She placed 26th in the Final Qualifying Tournament. In 2016, she signed a sponsorship deal with Nitori and participated in 33 JLPGA Tour events, with a money rank of 103rd. She placed 35th in the Final QT. In 2017, she competed in 32 JLPGA Tour events, finishing the year ranked 96th in prize money.

From 2018, she operated as a free agent and won her first professional tournament at the Step-Up Tour "Panasonic Open Ladies" held in April, and also won the "Castrol Ladies" in July. That year, she participated in 19 Step-Up Tour events and 3 JLPGA Tour events, finishing the year ranked 129th in prize money. She placed 42nd in the Final QT. In 2019, she participated in 8 Step-Up Tour events and 21 JLPGA Tour events, finishing the year ranked 123rd in prize money. She started 2020 with a QT ranking of 97th. In 2022, she started with a QT ranking of 29th.
